Due to Hurricane Katrina and that stinky Ho Rita (two feet of water), The Spellcaster had been closed from August 2005 thru August 2006, but we re-opened on Saturday September 2nd, 2006 with the party of resurrection. You will not recognize the Lodge of old and it would be best to put any nostaligic longings for the past out of your head forever because the new and improved Spellcaster features air conditioning (broken at the time of the party), tree stump tables, museum quality pine cone art displays, two bathrooms, and custom made subwoofer seats......that's right ladies, Ryan Hesseling (of One Eyed Jacks) has created a set of ice-cream blue pleasure booths that are so comfortable we will maybe charge money to sit on them. As for the bathroom situation, it is the men who will be enjoying the new "catholic style" grotto bathroom installed by Todd Windish and his crew. Dave the artistic plumber deserves special mention as well as EP for their valuable aquatic skills. The rare and exotic corner sink was donated by Elizabeth Macey. Thank you Elizabeth. Speaking of Elizabeth, we will now strongly discourage smoking in the main room. There was one more special guest honored on this night of resurrection and that was Quintron Senior. He and his crew (Mark, Adrian Lovell, and John) re-sheet rocked the entire place and installed the new front doors.
Thanks to the thousands who donated time and money to help make this happen again.
P.S. Matt Vis has created a special Lodge secret that you will just have to see for yourself.
P.S.S. The Lodge fish (John and Chris) perished in the hurricane but our new fish look and act just like the old ones thanks to Daryn Deluco and Wal-Mart.

This is the wide shot. You can see the tree trunk table in the foreground. These tables were made from 200 year old downed live oaks from St. Charles Avenue. Our tribute to uptown. The mirrored tops were discarded by the Saturn Bar.

This is one of the famous "subwoofer seats" created by Quintron and Ryan Hesseling. The subwoofer seats were build and hand-upholstered by Ryan and the subs were designed and installed by Quintron. These booths run on a totally separate amp with its own voulume mixer. The DJ booth and even Quintron's organ are run through the rumble seats to create stunning surround sound effects and a nice vibration feeling for your legs and back. Very exciting to sit on. Must be seen and felt in person.

These are a few of the many pine cone art display boxes. Miss Pussyacat built most of the pine cone figures so far but others were created by Allison Fensterstock (a pine cone figure of Kitty West) and a mysterious boxer with large hands whose late 1980s shell-art creations were donated by the Todd and Erin Windish foundation.

This is Todd Windish. He built the bathrooms (we now have a Men's room) and did all the Cedar Trim. Todd is a very hard worker and dislikes film crews.

This is actually a picture of Quintron and Antoinette K-Doe at the opening of her bar, The Mother-In-Law Lounge. The Mother in Law opened just days before the Lodge. Antoinette is telling Quintron a secret in this photo.

This is Miss Pussycat with neighbor Eugene and DJ Jubilee. Jubilee performed at the grand re-opening. The King of bounce. From the St. Thomas.

These are special cakes made by Elizabeth Macey and Kirsha Kachele for the Grand Re-opening. These cakes were very VERY special and many people tasted them throughout the eveneing. The large one was made with strawberries that you can not see.

The Black Lips on the front porch of the Spellcaster Lodge. Attractive, violent, psychedellic....of course the only girl in the band is missing from this picture. From Atlanta.

This is Jude Matthews charging his cellphone and his own dehydrated brain after the party. Jude is not in his own home in this picture because he doesn't have one right now.
